About this Class

Join us ONLINE for a 6-week reflection on Frank Ostaseski's book The Five Invitations! "Death is not waiting for us at the end of a long road. Death is always with us, in the marrow of every passing moment. She is the secret teacher hiding in plain sight. She helps us to discover what matters most." - Frank O Renowned Zen teacher, compassionate caregiver and co-founder of the Zen Hospice Project, Frank Ostaseski has sat on the precipice of Death with more than a thousand people. In The Five Invitations, he distills the lessons gleaned over the course of his career, offering an evocative and stirring guide that points to a radical path of transformation. Utilizing the first hand and reflective wisdom of this book, we will come together to both share and explore themes of dying AND living. True to the nature of all of my offerings, I believe in the potency of collective wisdom and shared experience. This means, in addition to guiding us successively through each invitation/the book, I will offer up light facilitation, reflection and conversation prompts to not only expand our individual landscape, but to hear and learn from each other. Your willingness to engage with the material and with the group will influence the experience at large. Gathering dates are Wednesday eves from 6:30p to 8p PST every OTHER week: Sept 11th, Sept 25th Oct 9th, Oct 23rd Nov 6th, Nov 20th Reflecting on our individual relationships to Death, while universal, is also very personal. To honor this intimacy, these gatherings will not be recorded. Cost is $120 for the series, which breaks down to $20 per gathering to cover my time and expenses. However, I do not want a lack of funds to be a barrier. If you'd like to participate and are needing sponsorship, please be in touch.
